Reggie Watts Takes The Perfect Parfait Into Existential Orbit

Watch the full episode here:

For the explosive Season Two finale of The Perfect Parfait, Hunter Cope sits down with one of the most singular minds in comedy and music: Reggie Watts.

Known for blending improvisation, absurdity, beatboxing, looping, stand-up, and surreal genius into something only he can do, Reggie arrives at the Parfait Palace ready to talk TED Talks, Conan O’Brien, late night television, and the mysterious art of making things up in real time.

But because this is The Perfect Parfait, nothing stays normal for long.

The episode begins with two abnormally large parfaits and a truly ridiculous Parf du Jour: The Mystical, Magical Möbius Loop-de-Scoop of Comedy and Whimsy. From there, Hunter and Reggie get into Reggie’s legendary TED Talks, his friendship with the GOAT Conan O’Brien, and the difference between being bandleader on The Late Late Show with James Corden and Comedy Bang! Bang!

Then the show levels up.

With help from bandleader Dory, Reggie joins a brand new segment called Theme Dream Machine, where he improvises incredible theme songs for completely made-up shows. It is exactly the kind of joyful, off-the-dome chaos you hope for when Reggie Watts is anywhere near a microphone.

And then, naturally, the interview gets interrupted by two eccentric Poolzo patrons — because apparently the Parfait Palace was double booked by Danny Simmons. Poolzo is Uber for pools, which is either a terrible business idea or the future of leisure.

But the real emotional chaos comes at the end.

Reggie claims that Chef David Codney may have actually made the perfect parfait.

This sends Hunter into a full existential spiral as the season comes to a close. Has Chef done it? Is the parfait perfect? Is Hunter’s 401k in danger? Can a comedy food show survive actual validation?

The Reggie Watts finale is everything The Perfect Parfait does best: sweet stars, salty comedy, strange little bits in every bite, and a sincere love for guests who can make the show feel completely alive.

Watch the Season Two finale of The Perfect Parfait for Reggie’s comedy, music, and a pleasantly chaotic swirl of poolside whimsy.
